Omitting the pronoun

Post by Metamorfose » Wed Jan 25, 2006 2:37 pm

Given:

She was highly qualified, however didn't get the job.

Is there any problem omitting the pronoun she in the second clause or it is obliged to put it in there?

It looks wrong. I think that however needs to be followed by a full sentence, unless you plan on putting it at the end, as in She was highly qualified but didn't get the job, however.

'however' can't join two sentences; it's not a conjunction. Therefore, the new sentence obviously needs a subject.
