"Am I in too deep" probably refers to level of emotional involvement, not intellectual level. You could say
"Have I fallen in love with you more than you've fallen in love with me?"

or, more colloquially:
"Are you into me as much as I'm into you?"

Maybe he's an incredibly well-endowed yet very considerate and gentle lover?
