Working in the US

Post by tomshax » Wed Sep 20, 2006 8:59 pm

Hi,

I am new here so apologies if I have posted this in an incorrect section of the forum. I am 24 and from the UK, and I have been teaching English for 3 years. I would love to spend some time doing this in the US. Does anyone know about the possibilities for British people to work in the US as English teachers? I would be very greatful for any advice or help in this area. By way of knowledge exchange, I am a fountain of the stuff if Barcelona or Bonn/Cologne is what you are after!

Doing what? In grad school I had 2 teachers who were British. Were you thinking college or were you thinkig adult education or what? America is pretty big on not discriminating, so I am sure you would be able to teach, but depending on the level of the students, getting a job might be a bit difficult for you.

You'd do better to post your question in the relevant Jobs Forum.
