Fun words

Post by fluffyhamster » Wed May 21, 2008 2:06 am

I just added a link on the Bilingual forum's dictionary sticky to something about A.S. Hornby (part of a promotion of the OALD7), and noticed one of the OALD7's new words was silver surfer - 'an older person who enjoys surfing the internet'. Is this word new to you? I assume it was coined after the second Fantastic Four movie came out. Even if it's old hat to some, I'm sure most will agree that it's a fun phrase. :D Anyway, if you spot something that you think will tickle people here on Dave's, feel free to post it here!

These "Backronyms" are sometimes quite funny as well.
