Hello,
I want to make sure I understand the expression "geographic fix" correctly. I think it means your problems, shortcomings, or faults disappear because you move to another place. i.e. If you are a lazy student in China, you will continue to be a lazy student after you move to Canada, there is no such thing as a geographic fix.

I don't think many people would recognize it as a phrase. It would most likely refer to finding a place on a map. It might be used in the way you say - "there is no easy geographic fix to personal problems" but that isn't a common way of expressing the idea and would likely come with further explanation.

It's military terminology and means location (on a map or by a set of coordinates). Also you find "to get a fix"

As in "Can you get a fix on him?" "Roger. He's at 1024 North by 506 W."

Also when targeting a missile or other weapon, to get a fix is to take aim on the target. When that fix is achieved it can be 'locked'. A lock in this case is a fix that is verified and locked into the controls so that all that is left to do is pull the trigger press the fire button.
