Hello,
I want to make sure I'm using the expression "lost in a book/movie" correctly. Are the following sentences grammatically correct?
1. I was lost in the book.
2. I got lost in the movie."

I don't think it is possible (or at least not as easy) to get lost in a movie - there is often a fair bit of noise to "bring you back out of yourself".

Bear in mind there is also a difference in the meanings (state versus process) of 'be' and 'got', that might affect the (differing) interpretations of your two sentences. (Could 2 even be interpreted as 'That movie lost me - I found the storyline difficult to follow'?).
