CAE assessment breakdown question

Post by L8Hatter » Mon Nov 06, 2006 1:21 pm

Hello

I understand that in order to pass the CAE, students need to achieve at least 60% in each paper. However, I was wondering if this applied to the sections within each paper? In particular, Paper 3 (English In Use) has six parts. Do students need to get 60% in each part, or can they fail one and compensate for this with a higher score in another part?

The reason I ask is that my students are particular worried about the first two parts. Any info much appreciated.

Steve.

No, its marked as a straight paper, so you don't need to worry about the individual elements in the paper. (The paper's are also supposed to be designed to be more difficult as you go through the exam.)
