I have just been told that I will now be doing telephone teaching in South Korea. I need to evaluate conversation in 3-5 minutes with students who are, for the most part, beginners that have a hard time with basic conversation.

any ideas on what kind of questions/topics should be used to make this as painless as possible for all involved and actually getting the kids to walk away from it learning something? i realize this is mostly to show off to the parents, but still...

oh, did i mention i LOATHE talking on the telephone in the best of times? :D

thanks!

Dear Marx,
Ask them questions about their name, age & family members.Thereafter you could give them different topics like who is their fav actor, what is their fav food& do they know how to prepare it, what do want to become in your life, which is their fav sport & why to speak on for a minute. I think this should work while they are speaking do not interrupt but bear with them, jot down various errors they committed with regard to vocab, grammar& pronunciation while they are speaking. This will help you customise your approach in training them. I hope this works out for you, please let me know whether this worked or not.
