hi there
iam a girl from middle east, i want a helping on my subject which it is from the open unversity. it's called e303, actually its a grammar subject. so, i need help in find sites for this subject, or to connect with student from this unversity.

You can try posting in the Student Forums at Dave's. There you will find other students and teachers who are interested in helping students with their questions. The Teacher Forums are more for teachers to discuss teaching issues with each other. I think you would have better luck in the other forum.

Hi morpheus, I checked the back cover of my copy of Applying English Grammar, and sure enough, I saw it was specifically the E303 Reader (I was aware though that it was an OU book of some sort when I bought it)!
I got it mainly for the chapters in Part 1, particularly Jim Martin's one.
Although I'm not doing a course with the OU, it would be nice to hear what you think of the book, and if there's anything you want to discuss, don't hesitate!

i need help in some examples of projects, becouze in the second course we have to do project on passive voice on the four regestiers(fiction, academic writing, conversation and news). actually i found it so difficult to me. so could u plz find any samples of projects could help me .

The four registers covered and examined in detail in the Longman (Student) Grammar of Spoken and Written English are the same (fiction, academic writing, conversation and news), so it might be useful for you to try to get access to at least the Student version/rewrite (it has an accompanying workbook) for the purposes of your project (the original full-size Biber et al LGSWE would be best though, because it has more examples and more detailed discussion). Certainly, the L(S)GSWE will give you an idea of the type and frequency of passive (and the functions thereof) in each register.
The writing of the LGSWE was a project in itself, eh!
