Is testing a blessing and/or curse?

Post by jingjing^^/ » Fri May 11, 2007 2:51 am

:roll:
Everyday, we teach to the test, and then test what we teach.
But still,
Students are mad at the tests;
Teachers are mad at the students;
Parents are mad at the teachers;
...
Anyway, what's there in a test?
Is it a blessing and/or curse?
Looking forward to your opinion ...
Best regards from Beijing, China

I don't like tests/exams nor do my students. They're a necessary evil. Incidentally, are you speaking of tests to show you if your teaching was effective (i.e. did they get it) or for grades?
