Bilingual Education in Texas-Finding ways to teach

Post by laura77598 » Wed Dec 10, 2003 1:48 pm

How can I become a bilingual elementary teacher in Clear Lake Texas? I am somewhat afraid because I am a learned speaker from college rather than a native speaker who speaks it all the time at home. I am fluent, and I have taken most of the courses prescribed by UHCL, and I am ready to continue, but I don't know if there is still a demand for bilingual teachers in Clear Lake. I can teach in Friendswood too, but I want to avoid the HISD. I need to be able to teach in the Clear Lake area. Can someone tell me what the job prospects are for Bilingual Elementary teachers in Clear Lake? Because if the demand is waining, I will just become a RN.
Thanks,
