Primary Language restrictions

Post by eslwendy » Sat Nov 12, 2011 4:21 pm

As I read about restriction laws in CA, AZ, & MA, I really feel for the teachers of those states. When I'm in the classroom, my instinct is to use anything in my bag of tricks to get the content through to my student. Sometimes, yes, I must resort to using native language words to bridge the gap. This is not ignoring English, just getting to the point at hand. I can not imagine the stress it causes for these teachers having to wrestle with strategies they know will work, and breaking the law. It must cause a feeling of defeat for these teachers.
