Help needed to give an english course

Hi everyone I'm an International Business student in Mexico. In order to get my degree i need to give community service. The program assigned to me consists in giving an english course to people with low income, and that do not have any kind of english knowledge.

But the problem that I have is that the institution in which I have to give the course had an english program that was not good enough for people to learn, I dare to say this because we ask a teacher to help us and she said that the english program given to us lacked in depth and that this website would be helpful.

The time in which I have to give this course is one month. I would appreciate if anyone could help me in this matter

Tell me more about the kind of students you will have. Are they literate? Are they adults? Kids?
It's a good thing to find out what their needs are with regard to learning English i.e. Why are they learning English? For work? For pleasure? That will make lesson planning more relevant. Is it a lesson or a whole course that you have to prepare?If it's a course, how long does it go for?
As they have no English, you'd have to go back to basics. Reflect on your own early English-language learning experience. How were you taught?
