I'm a reporter for Education Week (see www.edweek.org) and would like to learn more about how well schools are serving English-language learners in the heartland states of the United States (the Midwest and west--but not states on the coast). I'm seeking teachers or administrators willing to inform me about their school's situation.
Could you describe for me briefly the group of ELLs at your school and how you serve them? Do you provide any native language instruction or just ESL? Do you have ESL teachers who serve more than one school? How has your school acted on lessons learned in meeting the needs of ELLs? What are the biggest challenges ahead?
Are you willing to be interviewed?
If so please send me an e-mail at [email protected] and you may hear from me in the next month or so.
Thank you.
