This is a bit embarrassing. This will be my 3rd year teaching and I am being moved to 3rd grade, I think. I taught 5th grade trasitional, but now I'm going to be required to teaching the majority of the subjects in Spanish now, at least math and reading. My spanish is not bad I was raised speaking spanish, but I don't have the academic part of the language down. So my vocabulary is a B-, and my spelling a C+, at the most. I am going to write most of the things I need to teach ahead of time in order to avoid mistake during class time. I will have the tranasparancies written in advance or anything else on chart paper. I want to increase my spanish vocabulary and obviously become a better speller. Does anyone have any advice. I want to do a good job.
Thank you.

I would think that simply brushing up on the texts you will be using would give you what you need. . . Tell me they are giving you texts in Spanish!!!

How about reading children's litterature in Spanish? [url]
www.scholastic.com has book order forms in Spanish, and amazon.com has a large selection of books in Spanish, too.
