How to teach non-English major students ?

In English teaching of Chinese univercities，teachers usually find it difficult to deal with a question. That is how to teach a large number of non-English major students in one class. How to manange such class effectively ? Please give me some advise. Maybe in the future, I will be a teacher in university.
