confide

'tell everything to somebody'
1. We usually refrain from telling people
about our boss. But for some reason or aonther,
we make the secret open.
2. Your husband is very mean. You have kept it
to yourself for a long time. But now you have
told everything to your friend (and you feel better).
Are there any slang expressions for that (confide)?
show all of your hand?
Thank you.

I think I would say "get it off your chest". Here's how it could work:
I had a little trouble explaining something to my class last week. The students were confused and I felt frustrated as I drove home. Later the same evening I posted at the café and told the others about my problem. After reading their replies I wasn't sure I was really any better off, but it felt good just getting it off my chest.
