Information for prospective teacher Eastern Europe / Russia

Post by seanmack » Sun Nov 20, 2005 12:43 am

Hello,

I am an American businessman seeking information about how best to become a business english teacher in Eastern Europe or Russia. I would appreciate any and all comments that would be useful for someone new to this kind of work.

I am sure other "newbies" reading this will be appreciative as well.

Sincerely,

Sean

Well, as a former businessperson and business professor who switched to teaching business English, I'll tell you that the CELTA course, plus an additional specialized course in teaching BE, were extremely helpful to me. If you don't have a CELTA or TESOL already, take one of the ones offered in Eastern Europe or Russia, so you get a feel for what the students are like. If you have a particular country in mind, take the course in that country as the school should be able to steer you to the jobs.
