When used to mean such a kind of liquid in general,
is there any difference between these two?
1. alcoholic drink
2. alcoholic drinks

Singular and plural

In this case drink is countable...
So I can have 1 drink or 3 drinks.

You can buy a round of drinks
You buy a drink for yourself.

Buy a round - Is buying drinks for everybody in your group and it is a very common colocation.

The tramp had some sort of alcohol(ic drink) in a brown paper bag - he reeked of booze.

We sell a wide range of alcoholic and soft drinks.

right, "drink" can also be the general term...

he was possessed with "the drink"
