the task at hand

Post by Itasan » Thu Feb 21, 2008 12:14 am

"He'll need a little prod to get back to the
task at hand."
Does this mean something like this?
"We (or someone else) have to push him
to restart the task he now has to finish."

Thank you.

Yes, he/she needs a little push to get back to the task (continue with the task).

Oh, I see. Thank you very much, engteacher.
'continue with the task'
He has been doing it, but he is tired or too busy,
so he has to be pushed. Right?
