At the link below I've made a very extensive list of acronyms that can be used for teaching ESL/TEFL in Korea and elsewhere.
http://acronymsandmore.blogspot.com/
This list of acronyms, initialisms, abbreviations and shortened words is very organised. When I taught adults in Seoul a textbook had a photo of a double decker bus with a caption below it stating, "London, UK". As a knowledge check, I asked students what UK meant, no one knew. So I did a few acronym lessons, they always liked them.
They are listed by topic such as sports, education, politics, business, computers, and technology. Much like a book with chapters. Adults studying English want to learn what is popular, and this website has considerable content for teachers and students.
A few examples
COGS - cost of goods sold
ASAP - as soon as possible
HQ - headquarters
PPV - pay per view
UK - United Kingdom
tux - tuxedo
