Hi, Guys! I am doing some reserach about chinese students' communicative competence. I would like to hear your opinions, thank you for your participation.

My perspective is that of an ESL teacher in San Francisco. Probably 85% of my students are Chinese.

(3) Chinese students lack confidence and cultural knowledge.

I attribute this to the big differences between western and eastern cultures and languages.

I think what students need more than anything is vocabulary!

Most of our Chinese students have a lot of years experience of english study. But we also have poor hearing and writing abilities. I always think that things will be better if This is my first time to study English.
Most of our Chinese students had remembered more than 5000 words, but we can only know them on paper. We didn't know what it is when we hear the words and when we want to use them for writing and speaking, even if we had remember them for a long time.
