I have a class of bank officials whose English level is pretty high; really they just need to keep it in running order. Can anyone recommend audio tape materials readily available in Beijing on business topics.

Yes, I recommend New International Business English published by Cambridge and available on the cheap all over China.

Also, my company has a website with lots of practise for high level Asian learners (and lots of great audio). Email me at [email protected] if you're interested.

English for Business Studies

Following on with emile's reply, I have had the opportunity to use New International Business English. I have also used English for Business Studies, again from Cambridge. I prefer the latter for higher level students.
NIBE stresses commercial English and may be too functional for banking students. They may not be interested in locating offices at corporate headquarters or understanding Incoterms. On the other hand, NIBE has a broader set of communications exercises with some good role plays.
EBS presents individual subjects at more abstract level - the readings and audio interviews are challenging and focus on higherevel topics such as Business Ethics, Government and Taxation, and Financial Markets - Equity, Debt and Deriviatives. I have found that each chapter lends itself well to a 90 minute or 2 hour block of time.
Any choice between the two would depend on the level and interest of the students. Both series are well documented and complemented with CD audio exercises.
