2. bug
3. bugging device
4. listening device
Do these mean the same thing? If so,
which do you usually use?
I mean the term, not the device. LOL

I'd stick with forms derived from the lemma BUG. The other forms aren't nearly as clear, and are almost certainly less frequent/less recognizable.
