I wonder what 'do diligence' means?

Again, Adams of Thunder Bay Police reiterates the aspect of reciprocal responsibility for both babysitters and parents. Certainly it's do-diligence on the part of the parents,・he noted.<<
I wonder if it's frequently used in the political scene and
what it means.
Thank you.

I'm guessing it's an American pronunciation where do and due sound the same.

I'm guessing it's a misspelling that happened because of said American homonyms. Never saw it before.

Thank you anyway.
