chat as a pedagogical tool: obstacles to overcome

Post by alysea » Sat Dec 25, 2004 8:33 pm

hi all and best wishes to the coming new year!
i'm interested in using the chat as a pedagogical tool in an EFL classroom at tertiary level, i'm well aware abt the benefits of introducing such tool in a language classroom( i've been using it as a learner for more than 5 years) , however this is not an easy task when want to implement it in an educational system that is lacking both a language lab and all the necessary software that may prove essential ( using intranet chat protocols) .it's essential to notice that it's tha algerian context that i'm speaking of.
hope to hear from u soon so as to see clearer how to overcome this issue and find away to adapt this tool to my local context.
n.b. one characteristic of the algerian context is the widespeard of cyberspaces

Take a look and explore as well as experiment this chat programme :

paltalk.com
Thanks someone who kindly left it on a web board. I accidentally spotted it 4 years ago and have enjoyed chatting there since!!

Cheers!
