research material on forums and language learning

Post by xtrain » Thu Aug 11, 2005 4:04 pm

(also posted in applied linguistics)

hello,

i'm looking for material specifically related to using web based forums as a way to learn/practice using english. i'm doing grad work in taiwan, and sometimes research material can be hard to come by.

if you are aware of any online research related to this, or hardcopy journal articles/ books, please either pm me, or post here, as maybe someone else will need similar info at a later time ...

thx

x

Have you seen Kroonenberg's article in TESOL Journal 4 (2) 24-27 1994/1995 'Developing communicative and thinking skills via ellectronic mail' ? i found it really informative; outlines a bulletin board program for english language aquisition. good luck!
