Chuala user-created pronunciation dictionary

Post by tomike » Thu Jun 21, 2007 1:25 pm

Chuala is a user-created pronunciation dictionary with learning and social networking tools to help learn, teach and save languages. It has just been released in beta format. (www.chuala.com)

There are more than 40,000 English pronunciation exercises on the site including words and sentences that are useful when preparing for exams such as TOEFL, IELTS and TOEIC.

The record and compare tools help develop pronunciation and understanding skills. These skills require lots of repetition and can’t be done in a cost-effective way with a teacher.

All the words that are required for the HSK Chinese test are also available.

Chuala supports 7,000 languages and content creators can indicate the geographical source of their accent.

Teachers can use either the existing content or create exercises or lessons for their students.

Please pass on this information to anyone you think might be interested. Any feedback, especially bug information or suggestions, are gratefully accepted.

Thanks

Mike
