I can't get it to work either. I compared your .html code with the .html code on my page that has an image map. You put the part that starts <map name="Cat.html"> and ends </map> in the body section, but I put mine in the head section. However, I understand that really doesn't matter and it didn't change anything anyway. If Al doesn't figure it out, you might want to post to an html forum, like this one at Devshed: http://forums.devshed.com/f1/s
In general, people are really good about responding.

Before I start, to avoid confusing readers who see this and compare it to the above post, not all of the correspondance has been done through this forum and Laurie contacted me saying that the links worked on her browser.

Thanks for getting back Laurie, I've made the changes that U suggested.

So it works on your browser? U can actually link to the other parts of the site, not that there's anything there yet.

The depressing thing is that I can't. When I click on the headings, nothing happens.

When I figure out why, I can go to a polygon shaped links to make it easier to link. But I CAN'T LINK, it's just not fair, U can link and I can't.

Can everyone else who reads this post tell me if they can link or not?

Thanks.

Oh boy, it worked for sure and now it doesn't. Let me see if I can figure out why :?

I loaded it on my webpage. Go to http://fog.ccsf.cc.ca.us/~lfried/Cat2.html

The links work. Next, go to the source code (in IE, click on View, source). When you see the source code, select all the text. Copy it and paste it in whatever you are using to make your html page, and put it on your site. Tell me when you are finished and I'll delete it from mine. You can compare to see if you can find what's different, but it's driving me nuts. Anyway, since this version works, you can use it.

Lauri,

U aren't going to like this. It didn't even display the diagram. It looked like when U can't open a picture.

Well try again. I removed the stuff it said to remove. I think it's stuff geocities puts on. I don't know why it would work on mine and not yours. anyone able to or not able to see it?

Okay it will work now. My son said it's Geocities. You can't link to a picture in Geocities from another webpage. I think mine probably worked because it was cached on my computer. I had my kids try, but they couldn't see it either, so I put your picture on my webpage too so it would work.

Well, that's the first time I've seen the image without an "error on page" message.

I was unable to link to anything, though. I notice that U've taken out the "unique name" code. I guess that's why.

Feel free to keep it on your web page Lauri as long as you acknowlege me as the designer. U deserve it, I think U've done as much work on it as I have.

I've copied the source code and I'll look at it again tomorrow, right now though, its time I went to bed. Thank your children from me for helping too.

Goodnight.

Andrew,

When I go to your website, the first thing I see is a dialog box that says there is a syntax error.

This ususally indicates there is a javascript error.

I use IE on Windows.

Yes, thanks. Apparently it only works on IE with a Mac at the moment. I posted to an html Forum and hope someone can correct the code.

I love my Macs! I'm stuck with working with PCs at school. Yuck. Oh, by the way I figured out the problem and Andrew's Venn Diagram works on a PC too. Of course, I figured it out precisely ten minutes after I posted to a Forum. I should have posted sooner.
