Has anyone used corpora?

Hello.
Can anyone share your experience of using corpora for langauge learning and teaching? I'd like to know when and how you use them, advantages and disadvantages, students' reaction (if used in class) etc. Any opinions and advice welcome. Thankyou.

As an editor, I use corpora to find the most common usage of certain words. For example, is it more common to say 'interested in...' or 'interested to...'
