Hi, i am writing a paper about comparison between chinese and English netspeak( cyberspeak, e-language , internet language,or cyberlinguistics). so i am eager to know how netspeak devolep in the english-speaking country. how can we define a netspeak? how about its nature,classification ? can cyberlinguisitcs become a new branch of linguisitics ,like pragmatics, socialinguistics? can somebody give me some suggetions. thanx.

Cyberlinguistics is not like sociolinguistics. It's another style of communication. When I'm with my old college friends I speak one way, when I'm with my colleagues I speak another way, and when I'm on the net I speak another way. ttyl
