Computer telephony and English language teaching

Post by kathyfelts » Sat Aug 21, 2004 6:00 pm

Does anyone know of folks using computer telephony for English teaching? About two years ago, some of my Taiwanese friends were talking about the possibilities. I have done some work using automated telephony, but I don't think the technology is there yet for most TESOL applications. Realtime is another matter. It can be used for telephone teaching without the cost.
Anyone know anything?

We've had good luck with Skype, www.skype.com

Definitely worth checking out. We're also looking for language exchanges with ESL teachers. If anyone want to talk on a regular basis with college students studying Russian, German, or Spanish please let me know.
