This room will contain the lesson plans for our CELTT 2004 students using Focus on Grammar CD Rom at different levels.

Lesson plan
Standard: Expanding linguistic skills
Language: Grammar
Objectives: The students will be able
- to identify s.pr. & pr pr.
- to use the correct forms of the verbs
Learning strategies: focus on language accuracy
Materials: visuals, flash cards, CD-ROM activities
PROCEDURE
MOTIVATION
T shows appropriate pictures and asks questions, using Ss' background knowledge, eliciting the correct answers with the correct verb forms(s.pr. or pr. pr.)
PRESENTATION
T models some of the students' sentences on BB, highlighting the forms of the verbs.
T uses flash cards to show the difference between the two tenses.
PRACTICE/APPLICATION
SS work over the exercises from CD-ROM. (T checks their answers and monitors the whole class)
EVALUATION/ASSESSMENT
A. T-C : Orally. TPR activity. T checks the SS' understanding of the tenses. T asks the SS to raise 1 finger if they hear s. pr. & 2 fingers if they hear pr. pr.
B. CD -ROM Review.

1.To practise using past simple tense correctly [ regular and irregular forms ].
2.To have an idea of time expressions denoting past .
3.To form yes/no questions using past forms of verbs.

Re-view : Past simple :regular & irregular verbs
Some suggestions : break - practice - hit - climb - tell
When I was 6 I ............................
T shows a photo when she/he was young :
When I was young I had short hair .
Now I have got long hair .
So I
used to have short hair but now I don't.
T asks Sts to -guess the meaning of " used to ".
-spot its position in the sentence.
-mention if it is a verb ,noun, or an adjective.
T asks Sts give their own exemples using " used to "
T introduces a time sequencer : Every morning
I used to jog
every morning.
T asks more time sequencers and writes them on the blackboard.
Possible answers : every day /night - all day - all weekend.
Sts give their own sentences.May jot down 4 of them.
Introducing the Yes/No answer
T asks them go back in time when you were 6 , 8 , 9
T writes on bb.
" Did you use to climb trees ?
Yes, I did.
No, I didn't.
