Study Buddies

Post by gringuita » Fri Sep 24, 2004 12:29 am

I teach in Central Mexico. Some time ago someone posted on the General Job forum about a site called www.myprofe.com/tandem/index.php The idea behind it is to get native speakers of Spanish and English to help each other learn each others language and correct each others' writing.

I really like this idea but the site doesnt have enough traffic on it. I was wondering if you or anyone you know is teaching Spanish to native speakers and might be interested in organizing some kind of exchange of this type among our students. I teach advanced level English to prepa (high school age) and profesional (college age) students. I already give extra credit on a project if the student manages to arrange something like this to make the project better (above the fact that such review tends to improve the grade)

Such interaction cant substitute for teacher guidance but I figure the students can catch smaller errors and tell each other if they dont understand what was written.
