WANTED: SENTENCE SCRAMBLER COMPUTER SOFTWARE

Post by Narrin » Fri Jul 04, 2003 11:14 am

Hey Gang,

I'm looking for a sentence scrambler software program that I can use on my computer to create worksheets or quizzes and the likes. I don't want use any web based Java sites. I am more than willing to purchase a software program that can do what I need. The program should do the following:

1. Take any sentence I enter and scramble it up, including punctuation.
2. Students will have to write the correct order of the sentence in a blank next to or under the scrambled up sentence.
3. I should be able to adjust the font style, size, etc. Print out worksheets for the kids and print out teacher keys.

There is a program that I purchased a couple years ago and it is super duper! It's called Wordsheets by Qualint. (http://www.Qualint.com) Unfortunately, they don't have the option of sentence scramble. They have crossword maker, word search, and word scramble options. I am able to keep my list of words for the different levels and classes I teach so I can save time whenever I need them again. It's great and has been well worth the small fee. Check it out.

Please point me in the right direction for a program similar to this.

Thanks,

Hi,

I have a feeling all these are web based so they might not help you. Anyway others might find them useful. The first, hot pototoes, is free and can be downloaded so maybe it suits you.

Good luck.

This is a free downloadable macro for Word, and does a whole bunch of stuff with text, specifically for ESL teachers:
