An invitation

The Open Source English project aims to bring free, advertising free, multimodal, engaging TESOL content to learners of English, and teachers in the field. While at present it is in its very early stages, and thus not "live" to students, you are very welcome to take a look, offer feedback, or even better- to contribute a course or two.

I can't offer to pay you, and the rewards will as such be purely personal (although it might be a good way to brush up your online teaching skills, or something to put on your resume). Lessons need not be moderated beyond your adding them to the site, and you do not need previous experience in using the free open source Moodle CMS (see http://moodle.org) that the site runs from. I'll be happy to share my findings, and there are resources onsite as to how you can get the best out of the platform.

The idea is to set up a community of practice that is both helpful to learners of English, and teachers working in the CALL field, regardless of their level of experience.

If you have content, or just comments that you'd like to share, they would be very welcome indeed. Please feel free to ask any questions you might have here, or by contacting me by email via [email protected]

I look forward to hearing from you.
