SOS! Standardized Placement tests for children?

Post by chocol8 » Sun Dec 19, 2004 5:38 am

I'm in charge of developing a new curriculum for Korean 4th-12th grade students studying in our intensive English program after school. Part of the deal is, we're looking at changing our standardized placement test to one that is more suitable for younger ages -- namely, 9 - 18. Currently we use the MEPT (Michigan English Placement Test). Any ideas?

Also, I'm looking for a good interactive and "fun" grammar text for young ones. Suggestions? Is there such a thing??

Thank you!!!

In our school district we have used the LAS--Language Assessment Scales-- for a long time, and would still be using this if the state of AZ had not required us to switch to a new test developed for AZ by Harcourt . It is designed K-12 and has oral, reading and writing components. As I recall it is published by Ballard and Tighe.
