Problem-based learning: Need help from K-12 ESL teachers

Post by monicalee » Fri Feb 11, 2005 2:26 am

Hi, my name is Monica Lee, a graduate student in Educational Technology department at Purdue University, Indiana. And I’m seeking help from K-12 English as a Second Language (ESL) teachers.

The survey won’t take more than a minute to complete. (http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~lee146/pbl_esl.htm)

I’m developing a web site to present the teaching and learning process of a middle school ESL classroom, using problem-based/project-based learning (www.pblforesl.com). Problem or project-based learning is supported by many theories of second language learning and presents meaningful and effective ways to integrate technology in the classroom.
The web site will include
  • -Vide footages of the ESL problem-based learning lesson
    -Teacher and student interviews
    -Lesson resources, and
-Considerations needed for ESL learning situations.
The web site is also expected to be used as a video library for other problem-based learning units in ESL classrooms.

If you take one minute of your time to complete this survey, it will provide strong basis for the development of this web site.

Thank you very much for your participation in advance.
