best time to go to teach in china???

Post by earthaingel » Tue Jun 17, 2008 7:10 am

I'm planning to go before the end of the year - the best time is mid December when my current job contract in NZ expires. Will there be any jobs around then??

My psychic lady suggests around September(!!) but it would take a lot for me to get organised by then!

your advice would be appreciated...this is my first post :-)

september is ideal, since school usually starts then. but new teachers were always rolling in at my school when i was there. sometimes a teacher would leave a few months into the contract and they'd need someone else. i think you'll find something easily.

I agree. the new school year for 2008 will in fact start in mid September after the Paraolympics are over so that might give you more time to get organised. If you apply through a couple of websites, as below, the schools should be able to do most of the paperwork at their end in advance to make your arrival easier. you might also want to look at getting a working visa before you arrive, though that isn't a problem at every school.
