What about the students' opinions?

In chapter three of Forbidden Language, California's Proposition 227 is analyzed to determine if an EO classroom is beneficial or harmful but the authors' were unable to reach a conclusive answer. It is pointed out that in the study, there are students who attended BE classes before Prop 227 was passed. Thus, this led me to wonder if students' have ever been questioned as to which class - EO or BE - they found to be most helpful. I understand that there are those that think the teacher, or the administration, knows best but, perhaps, students that have experienced both an EO and BE classroom could lend some insight to the debate.
