Adult ESL classes

Do your local school districts, municipalities, colleges or church groups offer adult ESL classes? Do they charge a fee? How often do they meet? Are teachers paid or volunteer?

All of the above offer classes. There is one you didn't mention, a group that goes into the homes of people who can't get out for some reason and gives English lessons one on one. Most charge a fee but some the government funds and some are volunteer. They meet from once a week to five days a week for full days to evening classes to weekend classes. We have an overarching organization that keeps track of all this and refers students to programs that would best meet their needs.

Is there something specific you need to know to start such programs?
