Teacher Discussion Forums

I am a student teacher in a sixth grade classroom. I was wondering if anyone who is teaching has advice or lesson plan ideas on teaching students who are learning english and also may have special needs.

Are there any mulitcultural issues to be aware of?

I would also love any ideas on how to address diversity in the classroom.

As a new teacher I would appreciate any help.
