Teacher Discussion Forums

I am an elementary school teacher earning an endorsement in ESL. I've taken half the courses. Wednesday night I will begin volunteer tutoring some Afghan refugee children who speak no English. I will have a translator for the first meetings. Being a school teacher, I can ceratinly figure out a number of strategies but I would appreciate the advice of an experienced ESL teacher at this time. The university has given me mostly theoretical knowledge at this time. I have worked with Latinos but that was easy since I speak some Spanish. Thanks in advance.
