I am new to teaching ESL this year and have a pull-out class for 2 periods each day. My students range from grade 4-7 and come mainly from Asian backgrounds. From my studies, I have gleaned that I should plan to teach in "themes" to cover academic content. Does anyone have any advice about books or websites to access themes-I really don't have time to re-invent the wheel.

The UK's National Advisory Centre on Early Language Learning (a Department for Education and Skills Initiative) have just put up their Best Practice Guide on the net.
It's full of great articles on how to implement ELL (early language learning) in Elementary Schools. The emphasis is on languages in UK schools, but of course it is also applicable to the situation in other countries.
Have a look, it's really good.
