			Hello everyone,

I currently teach ESP to hoteliers in Machu Picchu (Peru).
I would like to know if anyone knows about good textbooks for these clases.
We currently use:
- Be My Guest
- Highly Recommended
- High Season
Thank you very much indeed!

I would add to your list the following texts:
English for International Tourism by Amanda Bailey - Longman (pre-intermediate and intermediate levels in two separate books)
Going International - English for Tourism - Oxford University Press
They are both quite good. Llke the ones you are currently using, they ecompass a very wide range of subjects - too many according to me.
The only one I found designed specifically for hotel staff is Check In - English in Tourism, a course for hotel reception staff - Longman, very simple but effective.

			Can someone help me pls?
I'm struggling to find transcripts or dialogues for
"Getting a Job" and
"Typical Interview Questions"
specifically for the hotel and resort industry type jobs such as Waitress, Room Attendant etc.

I'm just starting a new group of waiters and housekeepers, as well as front desk staff at a small resort here in Mexico. They range from people who barely know how to read and write to the well-educated. Can anyone suggest good texts and workbooks for the true beginners?

			Dear Colleagues
An online journal English for Specific Purposes World (ESP World) has a lot of articles on different ESP areas, methods etc.
Also I would like to invite ESP specialists to join the group EngliSP at Yahoo group and not only ask but answer questions!

Word By Word Diccionario Ilustrado de Ingles, that is, Illustrated Dictionary of English, by Steven J. Molinsky and Bill Bliss/Pearson Longman.. Both editions OK. These are real good picture dictionaries, they have very useful groupings for office, computer, kitchen, equipment, i.e. job search, job safety, construction site. I have not yet seen a grammar that is simple enough. You can use Basic Grammar in Use, Raymond Murphy, 2nd Ed. Cambridge for what I consider a good plan of attack, but each unit needs development to be better as class lessons.

			Yes, an interesting thread.
Are you interested in super beginner, literate, or super beginner, non-literate. On occasion I see a non-literate OK book. Will track it down if you wish.

I want recommend you some textbooks like English for International Tourism by Amanda Bailey - Longman (pre-intermediate and intermediate levels in two separate books); Going International - English for Tourism - Oxford University Press. I hope that they're helpful for your study.
