Songs for basic level?

hi, I usually give my intermediate student's a 'song assignment', that's
a cd or cassette with a song and a worksheet based on it.
Usually, gapped lyrics, listen and choose the right word, etc, nothing too hard, not to disappoint them. It's a nice way of giving them homework, they like it, and looks more interesting than workbook exercises.
Right, my basic level student's saw this and also want songs to take home.
I'd love to prepare something but I'm afraid of burdening them.

Have any suggestions? Any 'easy' songs?

I always try to prepare songs that appeal to them and it's quite difficult to prepare something easy and appealing at the same time.
