Booklist for Adult ESL
I have a group of late teen, early 20's ESL from Africa that are learning English. They have become bored with the short stories at their level (2-4 grade level) and wish something longer to read. Does anyone know of a booklist for adult beginning readers?
Hi,
I had great success with a Very Easy True Stories and Easy True Stories by Sandra Heyer. They are very simple and repetitive, build up grammar and vocabulary logically, and have pictures, but are about adult themes. My students loved them and looked forward to each new story. There are also great exercises at the end of each story.
