Teaching kids in small beach town in Mexico - Melaque

Post by sparks » Sun Jun 11, 2006 5:32 pm

Wonder if anyone has ideas for young kids in Mexico that don't know much English. They only get an hour a week in school and no chance to use it. I'm not a teacher so just looking for basic appraoch for simple classes with little structure. Thanks

I will be teaching first grade students one hour each week beginning in August. We are located in a very poor, rural section of the Southern U.S. and I am hoping to teach them about other cultures while focusing on their writing skills. Would you be interested in gathering questions from your students about life in the U.S. that my kids can answer for them? I would like to gather messages and responses from my students and then email them to you. I would like them to learn about where your kids live and what their lives and culture are like. Let me know if you are interested. I love your garden project and wish you continued success!
