Help with Multi Esl Levels in the classroom

Post by yucatan » Tue Jul 04, 2006 1:13 am

I teach in a private school in Latin America; Yucatan,Mexico to be specific and have been assigned a group of 3 children with different levels , different needs and different ages.

I know that one must make do if one wants to have a job.

It's a two hour course where you decide the breaks and have to provide all the material.

Is there no other option, but to elaborate three different lesson plans and pray that time flies?

depending on the structure or how much freedom you have you can use little centers for some activities. For example I have a listening and speaking center where the kids pick different cards and it has instructions on it such as comparing and contrasting objects in the picture, a writing center where they pick a prompt and complete it...while they are working on these tasks you can give direct instruction to the other student and rotate among the students...
