Pest Private Eye Educational Video Game
The Pest Private Eye teaches children and teachers about pests and how to manage them through Integrated Pest Management. Great for science curriculums and available free on the web:

It looks like you might have been referring to the ESL activities, but if you were also giving feedback about Pest PI, thanks! I am glad you enjoyed it if you were able to play it!purplegreen wrote:Thanks. You did a great job.
I think this is a great website. There are comics for beginners, e.g. five little monkeys, and comics for intermediate and advanced learners. The themes of the comics cater to different reader interests, for example there is one on Justin Biber, Marvel Comics and Classics, like Romeo and Juliet. The comics called “grammarman” focus on a specific grammar topic. Therefore the students get the opportunity to notice language forms. (plus comic templates) In addition there is a section with Podcasts including worksheets to use them, words of the day, games and much more. I was very impressed with the high quality of the website.Brian wrote:Can I be cheeky and add my Grammarman site to the list?

It's small in comparison to the giants listed above, but I think it's the only EFL site with comics specifically for English students.

Busy Teacher
Busy Teacher is a good website with free worksheets to download. Does anyone knows if www.lessonplanet.com is a good site?

You can add mine. It is free and has a variety of games including icebreakers, warmers, game boards, and conversation cards to practice communication.

Interactive Mind Maps
A good way for pupils to interact with the web is to use a site like www.examtime.com.
They can create mind maps, flash cards, quizzes and other notes online and share them with each other.
Some teachers in my school are starting to use it. The mind map feature is really cool.

For younger children, preschool to K8, I use a KidSafe site called http://www.knowledgeadventure.com . Apart from activities, games and role plays, I let them play around the reading and English games to increase their vocab.

Websites for ELLs
One great website I would highly suggest for all educators is LittleBirdTales.com where students create their own stories, and can also view others' stories, while recording their voices to narrate the story page, after page. It is great for allowing ELLs to practice their English without the emotional toll of speaking in front of the class.

This is a great site where you can download a lot of pre-made templates for koosh ball, jeopardy, wheel of fortune, etc. All you have to do is download it and put your questions/information in it. You do not have to have a SMART Board to use it! Just a projector do the kids can see it
